Whitley K8951 at Driffield aerodrome.
On 17th November 1938 this 102 Squadron aeroplane sustained damage as a result of a landing accident at Driffield aerodrome, nothing more is known about the incident. The damage must have been minor as it is not listed on the aeroplane's AM Form 78.

Whitley K8951 was built to contract 522438/36 by Armstrong Whitworth Ltd. at Baginton and was taken on charge as new by 102 Squadron at Driffield on 11th October 1938. On 17th November 1938 it was damaged at Driffield which saw a Cat.M/FA damage assessment. It was repaired on site and returned to 102 Squadron. On 8th September 1939 it sustained unspecified Cat.R/FA damage. On 15th October 1939 it was taken to 5 M.U. at Kemble for repair. Once repaired it was taken on charge by 19 O.T.U. at Kinloss on 13th June 1940. On 25th August 1940 it was transferred to 10 O.T.U. at Abingdon. On 12th September 1940 it was flown to 27 M.U. at Lichfield then on 7th October 1940 it was taken on charge by 10 B.G.S. at Dumfries. On 24th July 1941 10 B.G.S. was redesignated 10 A.O.S. at Dumfries. On 14th November 1941 an engine cut out on approach to Dumfries and the aircraft then overshot on landing. Cat.R/FA damage was the damage assessment and it appears to have been repaired on site and returned to the unit. On 5th April 1942 it was flown to 23 M.U. at Aldergrove and was converted to Ground Instructional Airframe 3293M.
