Wellesley K8528 at Finningley aerodrome.
On 1st July 1938 the undercarriage of this 76 Squadron aeroplane collapsed on landing at Finningley aerodrome causing minor damage.

Wellesley K8528 was built to contract 435442/35 by Vickers Armstrongs Ltd at Weybridge and was delivered to 76 Squadron on 4th November 1937. Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment following the incident at Finningley on 1st July 1938 and it was repaired on site to be returned to 76 Squadron. On 30th November 1939 it was transferred to the Station Flight, Finningley. On 18th January 1940 it was flown to 36 MU at Sealand and on 5th March 1940 Cat.M/FA damaged resulted when the undercarriage collapsed at Ternhill. It was repaired on site and returned to Sealand for packing. In April 1940 it was shipped to the Middle East and served with 223 Squadron, 47 Squadron and 223 Squadron again until being transferred to the Conversion Flight, Khartoum in December 1941. In May 1942 it went to Iraq, serving with 47 Squadron at Shandur. On 28th August 1942 it was damaged in a heavy landing and may have been repaired as it was not struck off charge until 27th July 1944.
