Wellesley K8527 at Finningley aerodrome.
On 18th November 1938 this 76 Squadron aeroplane suffered the undercarriage collapsing at Finningley aerodrome after landing.

Wellesley K8527 was built to contract 435442/35 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Weybridge and was taken on charge by 76 Squadron at Finningley on 4th November 1937. As a result of a collision with Wellesley K7726 at Finningley on 4th January 1938 Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was repaired on site. On 18th November 1938 the undercarriage collapsed after landing at Finningley and this also saw a Cat.M/FA damage assessment and a repair on site. On 20th July 1939 it was sent to 36 M.U. at Sealand (Packing Depot) and on 11th September 1939 was shipped to the Middle East. After being with 102 M.U. at Abu Sueir it was used by 47 Squadron until it failed to return from an operational sortie on 16th March 1941 when it was shot down by Italian fighters. Cat.W damage was recorded on the paperwork and it was struck off charge.
