On 27th May 1938 the pilot of this aeroplane landed at Thornaby aerodrome but overshot the landing and the tipped on it's nose damaging it slightly. The aircraft was almost certainly acting as a target tug for 608 Squadron crews, or possibly working with an aircraft carrier, for target towing duties and for gunnery practice over the North Sea.
