Hawker Fury MkII K8224 at Catfoss airfield.
On 8th December 1938 this No.7 Flying Training School aircraft overshot on landing at Catfoss airfield and tipped on to it's nose. No.7 F.T.S. were based at Peterborough at the time and were probably undertaking a gunnery training camp at Catfoss.

Hawker Fury K8224 was built to contract 419059/35 by General Aircraft Ltd. at Hanworth and was initially taken on charge by 9 F.T.S. at Thornaby on 1st September 1936. On 5th November 1936 it was transferred to 5 F.T.S. at Sealand. On 24th July 1937 it sustained repairable Cat.R/FA damage following overturning during a forced landing after the engine cut in flight but the location is unknown. After repairs were complete it was transferred to No.7 F.T.S at Peterborough and sustained Cat.M/FA damage on 8th December 1938 when it tipped up at Catfoss. It was repaired on site and returned to 7 F.T.S. On 20th March 1939 it stalled on landing at Peterborough, the undercarriage collapsed and it overturned. Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was struck off charge.
