Wellesley K7767 at Finningley aerodrome.

On 1st March 1938 this 76 Squadron Wellesley made a heavy landing at Finningley aerodrome and the undercarriage collapsed. It sustained repairable damage.

Wellesley K7767 was built to contract 435442/35 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Brooklands and was taken on charge as new by 76 Squadron at Finningley on 14th September 1937. As a result of the damage sustained at Finningley on 1st March 1938 Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was repaired on site. On 9th August 1939 it was flown to 20 M.U. at Aston Down (Packing Depot). On 11th September 1939 it arrived at Aircraft Depot Aboukir and was initially allotted to 48 Squadron but this was not taken up. In July 1940 it was taken on charge by 14 Squadron at Port Sudan. It later served with 47 Squadron and 117 Squadron before crashing on landing at Asmara on 15th August 1941. Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was struck off charge.
