On 27th January 1938 this 76 Squadron aeroplane overshot flarepath on landing at Finningley aerodrome and came to a halt with the undercarriage collapsed.

Wellesley K7744 was built to contract 435442/35 by Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Brooklands and was taken on charge by 76 Squadron at Finningley on 27th July 1937. On 5th November 1937 it was belly landed in error at North Coates sustaining minor Cat.M/FA and which saw a repair on site. On 27th January 1938 the undercarriage collapsed at Finningley that saw Cat.M/FA damage and another repair on site made. On 27th April 1939 it was sent to R.A.E. at Farnborough for auto-pilot control tests and fuel jettison trials. On 18th October 1940 it went to Brooklands Aviation Ltd and the following day to Vickers Armstrong's Ltd. at Brooklands. On 12th April 1941 it was taken on charge by R.A.E. Communications Flight at Farnborough. On 18th May 1942 the engine cut, believed due to icing, and the aeroplane was belly landed near Andover. Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was deemed beyond economic repair.
