Vickers Wellesley K7741 at Finningley aerodrome.

On 13th June 1938 this 76 Squadron Wellesley swung on landing at Finningley which caused the undercarriage to collapse. The aeroplane was repaired on site and returned to 76 Squadron who were based at Finningley at the time.

Vickers Wellesley K7741 was built to contract 435442/35 by Vickers Ltd, at Brooklands. The aeroplane was taken on charge by 76 Squadron at Finningley on 21st July 1937 and as a result of a mishap there on 4th October 1937 Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment. It was repaired on site at Finningley and returned to 76 Squadron. On 13th June 1938 it swung on landing at Finningley and the undercarriage collapsed. Cat.M/FA damage was again the damage assessment and it was again repaired on site at Finningley. On 9th August 1939 the aeroplane was flown to 20 M.U. at Aston Down and stored but was the struck off charge on 11th November 1940.
