Audax K5588 at Catfoss aerodrome.
On 28th January 1938 this aeroplane tipped on it's nose whilst taxying in a crosswind at Catfoss aerodrome. The aeroplane was on charge with No.7 F.T.S. who were based at Peterborough at the time, they were almost certainly using the aeroplane at Catfoss as part of a gunnery and bombing training camp there using ranges off the Yorkshire coast.

Audax K5588 was built to contract 456498/35 by A.V.Roe and Co.Ltd. at Chadderton and was initially taken on charge by 63 Squadron at Upwood on 13th March 1937. On 5th August 1937 it transferred to 7 F.T.S. at Peterborough. It sustained Cat.M/FA damage at Catfoss on 28th January 1938 that saw a repair on site. Cat.R/FA damage occurred at Peterborough on 30th August 1939 when the undercarriage collapsed. On 2nd November 1939 it was taken to Rollason's Ltd. at Croydon for a repair in works. Once repaired it was taken to 8 M.U. at Little Rissington on 15th April 1940 then, on 27th August 1940 to 52 M.U. at Cardiff (Packing Depot). It was shipped abroad and on 25th September 1940 arrived at Aircraft Depot, Drigh Road. It was initialy taken on charge by 5 Squadron at Risalpur then in November 1941 it was transferred to 146 Squadron at Risalpur. Later it was transferred to No.1 Armament Training Unit, India. On 14th October 1942 it taxied into a refueller at Bairagarh that saw Cat.A/FA damage and a repair on site. On 21st April 1943 it sustained minor Cat.A damage during a gale at Briragarh and was again repaired on site. It was eventually struck off charge on 6th July 1944.
