Gauntlet K5302 at Church Fenton aerodrome.

4th April 1938 this 213 Squadron Gauntlet ran into a grass mower on landing at Church Fenton aerodrome. Minor damage resulted, it was repaired and returned to 213 Squadron use.

Gauntlet K5302 was built to contract 296880/35 by Gloster Aircraft Ltd. at Hucclecote and was taken on charge as new by 54 Squadron at Hornchurch on 16th June 1936. On 22nd March 1937 it was transferred to 213 Squadron at Northolt then moved with the unit to Church Fenton on 1st July 1937. As a result of the mishap on 4th April 1938 repairable Cat.M/FA damage was the assessment. After repair it contimued to be used by 213 Squadron until 11th August 1938 when it overshot on landing at Wittering, ran into a ditch and overturned. Cat.W/FA damage was the assessment and it was struck off charge.
