Hawker Audax K8315 at Thornaby aerodrome.

On 27th April 1937 this new No.9 Flying Training School aircraft overshot on landing at Thornaby airfield, the pilot braked and the aircraft overturned,

Audax K8315 was built to contract 401786/35 by A.V. Roe Ltd at Chadderton and was delivered to 9 FTS on 8th April 1937. It sustained Cat.R/FA damage as a result of the incident above at Thornaby and was repaired and returned to service. On 13th October 1938 it sustained another Cat.R/FA accident and again it was repaired but suffered a final accident on 13th May 1940. Cat.W/FA damage was recorded and it was then struck off charge later the same month.
