On 3rd October 1937 this 18 Squadron Hawker Hind overturned on landing at Dishforth aerodrome. 18 Squadron were normally based at Upper Heyford and why it was at Dishforth is not known.

Hawker Hind K5475 was built to contract 404654/35 by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. It was taken on charge by 18 Squadron at Upper Heyford on 28th April 1936 and as a result of the mishap on 3rd October 1937 Cat.M/FA damage was the damage assessment. It was then transported across the grass and was repaired on site by a team at the Station Flight, Dishforth and was returned to 18 Squadron at Upper Heyford on 19th November 1937. On 16th August 1938 it was flown to 24 M.U. at Ternhill. On 24th November 1938 it was taken on charge by No.4 E and RFTS at Brough. On 3rd September 1939 it was transferred to 8 F.T.S. at Montrose and on 24th January 1941 it was transferred to 1 F.T.S. at Netheravon. On 11th February 1941 it was flown to 30 M.U. at Sealand, on 17th June 1941 it was sent to 76 M.U.(Packing Depot) at Cosford then on 14th July 1941 it was transferred to the S.A.A.F. and after this nothing more of the aeroplane is known.
