Heyford K4876 at Finningley aerodrome.
At 20.30hrs on Tuesday, 6th April 1937 this 97 Squadron aeroplane undershot the flarepath while landing at Finningley at night and struck a belt of trees. The pilot was thrown out and sustained only minor injuries. Another occupant was uninjured. A fire broke out and quickly spread, despite two aerodrome fire tenders attending the fire could not be put out and appears to have burnt itself out.
