Unidentified primary glider at Hedon aerodrome.
On 12th September 1937 members of the Hull Gliding Club carried out glider flights from the Hedon aerodrome gliding site. During one flight the club's primary glider bounced on landing on Hedon aerodrome and came to rest inverted. This glider was the Hull Gliding Club's third primary glider; the second was destroyed in a crash in September 1936 and this, the third was first test flown on 4th July 1937. Its designer, twenty one year old Ronald Coates, did not see it fly as he died in March earlier in the year.
