Audax K7329.
Information on this incident is lacking and I have not yet seen an AM Form 1180 accident card for the incident as yet. Suggested to have occurred on 3rd November 1936 this aeroplane was forced landed while flying in bad weather. The location of the incident was not known when I created this webpage. Elsewhere on the internet it has been suggested the incident occurred at Thornaby.
The aeroplane served with No.9 Flying Training School (based at Thornaby) and then on paper was on the books with 66 Squadron (at Duxford). This incident may have been well beyond the Yorkshire boundary purely because the wreckage was either taken to or collected by 66 Squadron on 30th November 1936. Because 66 Squadron were based at Duxford at the time I find it highly unlikely it sustained damage at or near Thornaby, or anywhere in the north of England. The damage to the aeroplane was then assessed and it was struck off charge on 9th January 1937. I have been unable to confirm this incident with anything in the form of contemporary documentation to prove where this incident existed should anyone be able to assist by supplying it.
