Hawker Hart K4426 near Skipsea?
On 15th July 1936 the pilot of this No.8 Flying Training School aeroplane was undertaking a training exercise on the Skipsea Air Gunnery and Bombing Range when the engine cut out. The pilot managed to make a forced landing near the coast but overshot the selected field and sustained some damage. Exactly where this incident occurred is not known. It is believed to have been repaired on site and flown out. No.8 F.T.S. were normally based at Montrose but were undertaking a gunnery training course at Catfoss aerodrome at the time of this incident.
