Flying Flea G-AEAD near Yafforth.
On Sunday, 3rd May 1936 the pilot of this aeroplane set out from Newton House aerodrome near Leeming but soon after taking off the pilot lost his barings. He made a forced landing at Yafforth without damage to enquire where he was and then returned to the aeroplane. On taking off the engine did not supply enough power and it would not climb. The aeroplane struck the ground and came to rest with the tail in the air. The damaged aeroplane was towed back to Leeming and damage to the fuselage was later repaired. Mr Kendrew based this aeroplane at Nichol's Farm, Seamer, Stokesley.
Pilot - Mr Edgar Watson Kendrew.
