Audax K3074 at Catfoss airfield.
On 16th April 1934 26 Squadron flew their aeroplanes from Catterick to Catfoss for their annual bombing and gunnery training camp, this would involve pilot's undertaking exercises off the coast at Skipsea. Unfortunately poor weather effected the course. On 16th April 1934 Audax K3074 was to have been used to drop flares but unfortunately crashed on take off from Catfoss at night. The aeroplane was badly damaged and both airmen seated in it were injured. Their injuries appear to have seen both later posted out of the squadron. Tillard, so much so that he left the RAF on grounds of ill health in 1936.

Pilot - F/O Arthur William Vincent RAF (29052). Slightly injured.
Arthur Vincent rose to become Wing Commander in rank but was dismissed by sentance of General Court Martial on 8th July 1944.
Audax K3074 was built to contract 190684/32 by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. at Kingston and was taken on charge by 26 Squadron at Catterick on 4th July 1933. As a result of the accident at Catfoss on 16th April 1934 Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment and it was struck off charge on 27th July 1934.
