Hinaidi K1065 at Catfoss aerodrome.

Between 4th September and 30th September 1933 99 Squadron, based at Upper Heyford, attended their annual practice camp at Catfoss where they undertook bombing and gunnery training. On 22nd September 1933 this 99 Squadron aeroplane suffered engine failure in the air, the pilot managed to reach Catfoss aerodrome but was badly damaged in a crash landing.

Hinaidi K1065 was built to contract 834192/29 by Handley Page Ltd. at Cricklewood and was delivered to the Wessex Bombing Area on 19th June 1930. On 7th July 1930 it was taken on charge by 99 Squadron at Upper Heyford. It was slightly damaged at Catfoss on 14th September 1933 that saw Cat.M/FA damage. A swift repair was made but on 22nd September 1933 it was again further damaged at Catfoss. This time Cat.W/FA damage was the damage assessment, it was deemed beyond economic repair and was struck off charge.
