Unidentified Atlas near Atwick.

I have located a newspaper report that is fairly vague. On Tuesday, 5th April 1932 an aeroplane that was being flown on a training flight from Catfoss made a forced landing in field near Atwick but overran into a hedge which damaged the nose and propeller. The two airmen flying in it escaped injury.

26 Squadron flew Armstrong Whitworth Atlases in Yorkshire at this time. Their record book states that they undertook their annual practice camp training at Catfoss between 26th March 1932 and 30th April 1932 but shared the camp with 13 Squadron. 13 Squadron also flying Atlas aeroplanes. The Atlas remains unidentified but would have either been a 26 Squadron or a 13 Squadron aeroplane.
