Hols Der Teufel "The Bat" glider at Ilkley.
On Saturday, 17th September 1932 the Ilkley Gliding Club held a flying meeting using Beamsley Beacon to begin flights. During the afternoon this glider was launched from the hill and flew for an hour, with light fading the pilot had to land and attempted to put down on the rugby field at Ilkley but struck a fence with a wing tip in doing so. Minor damage resulted.
