Hinaidi K1078 at Catfoss aerodrome.

Ten 99 Squadron Hinaidi aeroplanes were flown from Upper Heyford to Catfoss on 1st June 1931 so the squadron could undertake their annual gunnery and bombing practice on the ranges off the Yorkshire coast. This was probably the squadron involved in accidentally releasing practice bombs over Corpslanding Farm, Cranswick on 5th June 1931 that narrowly missed the house. On 19th June 1931 Hinaidi K1078 damaged it's undercarriage on landing at Catfoss.

Pilot - Sgt Pattenden.

The squadron records make mention to the weather being poor during their time at Catfoss, they returned to Upper Heyford on 26th June 1931 but in the week previously had only two servicable aeroplanes owing to a variety of damage to the other eight, including cracked rudders. Presuambly K1078 was one of these that was still in damaged state but the identities of the others are not known.
