R.F.D. AT.1 BGA.188 primary glider damaged near Driffield.

The Driffield Gliding Club owned this glider and in the Summer of 1931 they appear to have used a flying site at Blubberdale, between Fridaythorpe and Thixendale. Believed to have been during October 1931 a flying meeting was held and this R.F.D. glider sustained some form of damage but the location is not known. Given the glider was of the primary type I find it unlikely that it flew far from the gliding site.

Pilot - Name unknown.

R.F.D. Primary Type A.T.1 BGA.118 was built by R.F.Dagnall at Guildford and was owned by Driffield & District Gliding Club. It appears to have been first flown by the club on 20th July 1930 from a site near Cottam. The Driffield and District Gliding Club folded in April 1932 and the glider was offered for sale.
