Fairey Flycatcher S1282 damaged in the air, landed at Catterick airfield.
Information regarding this incident is sparse and I have no contemporary information to refer to. Believed to have been on 25th February 1929 this aeroplane was being flown on a delivery flight from Northolt to the RAF Training Base at Leuchars when it appears to have suffered a fuel tank bursting mid-flight. The pilot landed at Catterick aerodrome. It was a new aeroplane and had been at the Fairey Aviation Ltd factory at Northolt. A repair was carried out on site and it left Catterick on 28th February 1928.
Pilot - Name unknown.
