Unidentified aeroplane near Garforth.

Information regarding this incident is sparse. The now late historian Albert Pritchard lived locally to Garforth and while he did not witness the incident he later recorded basic information that an aeroplane force landed in the Garforth area while the crew were flying toward Seacroft / Thorner to assist with the repair of Hyderabad J8317 that had forced landed 2nd October 1926. I have all his research and he was never able to find out any other information. Whether damage occurred to this second aeroplane is not yet known.

J8317 was with 99 Squadron, based at Bircham Newton. The aeroplane that landed at Garforth may also have been from 99 Squadron. When the landing was made is not yet known. I have not located a newspaper report that may relate to this incident.
