Bristol F.2b C4696 at or near Catterick aerodrome.

Historian Graham Sharpe has supplied me with information on 2nd July 1918 Bristol F.2b C4696 was collected as salvage by No.1 (Southern) Aircraft Repair Depot (based at Farnborough) from Catterick with the aircraft being on charge with C-Flight, No.76 (Home Defence) Squadron, based at Catterick at the time. The incident must therefore have taken place in the days prior to this collection date. Why it was collected from Catterick by a repair unit from Farnborough is not known, there were other such repair depots far more local.
