A classic photograph often used in various publications over the years, it shows C4692 after the mishap at Marske. On an unknown date in 1918 this aeroplane ran into a drainage ditch at Marske aerodrome and tipped up onto it's nose sustaining some damage. The incident must have been after 1st November 1917 (when the unit arrived at Marske) but then after February 1918 (when the batch of aircraft was delivered to the RFC) and before 29th May 1918 (when the unit left Marske). On 28th October 1918 because on that date it collided in mid-air with Bristol Fighter E2550 and crashed into the North Sea.
