Airco DH.6 N3092 near Bempton.
Historian Graham Sharpe has supplied me information that on 23rd July 1918 this 251 Squadron aircraft made a forced landing between 3.5 miles north of Bridlington. The aircraft received damage that does not appear to have been repaired. The location would suggests the incident occurred in the Speeton / Bempton area. The unit was based at Atwick aerodrome and flew coastal and anti-submarine patrols, having previously formed from various Special Duty Flights.
