Airco DH.6 B3053 in the Catterick area.
On 5th June 1918 the pilot of this No.52 Training Squadron aeroplane was undertaking a training flight that included practicing reconnaisance and during the flight the engine failed causing the pilot to make a forced landing. Where this landing was made is not known but the unit was based at Catterick so was probably in that general area. At 15.15hrs the pilot had got the engine running again so attempted to take off but struck a tree and then crashed which saw him sustain a broken arm and probably other injuries.
