Maurice Farman S.11 Shorthorn A2345 at Bramham Moor aerodrome.

On 19th March 1918 the pilot of this No.14 Training Squadron was attempting to land at Bramham Moor aerodrome with the sun in blinding the pilot. He made what the casualty card stated was a "bad landing" and the aeroplane came to rest upside down. The pilot was injured.

Pilot - 2Lt William Charles Albery RFC. Injured.


William Albery was born on 8th November 1885 and had served in the Artists Rifles prior to transferring to the Royal Flying Corps. He received a commission in December 1917 and was posted to No.14 Training Squadron on 1st January 1918. He was slightly injured on 19th March 1918 and would return to No.14 Training Squadron which later folded and No.38 Training Depot Station formed in it's place. He was transferred to the Unemployed List in February 1919.
