Unidentified Avro 504 near Cherry Burton.

During the afternoon of 16th March 1918 the pilot of this No.72 Training Squadron aeroplane was undertaking a training flight around the general area of Beverley aerodrome when he had to make a forced landing a few miles north-west near Cherry Burton. The pilot escaped injury but it took until 22.00hrs before he arrived back at Beverley aerodrome. He was susequently killed in a flying accident a few weeks later when Sopwith Camel D9537 crashed near Beverley on 24th April 1918.
