Sopwith 2F1 Camel N6619 at Shipton aerodrome.
On 20th December 1917 this aeroplane was en-route from Howden aerodrome to RNAS East Fortune in Scotland when a landing was made at Shipton aerodrome, to the north of York. Why the landing was being made at Shipton is unclear but it could well have been as simple as it needed to be refuelled. The aeroplane's propeller was broken in the landing.
