Avro 504h N5267 at Redcar aerodrome.

On 6th October 1917 this aeroplane was involved in an accident at RNAS Redcar aerodrome, possibly due to a collision with Avro 504 9865. It was on charge with the RNAS Flying School at the time.

Pilot - Name unknown.

Avro 504 N5267 was built by The Sunbeam Motor Car Company at Wolverhampton as a 504b variant but was converted in production to a dual control 504h model and delivered to CSD at White City where it was fitted with a machine gun gear mechanism in February 1917. From there it was transferred to RNAS Killingholme for assembly on 9th March 1917 and then flown to RNAS Redcar on 18th June 1917 and it joined the Flying School. There is however no record of a repair being carried out following the incident at Redcar on 6th October 1917 and it was finally deleted from stock on 26th January 1918.
