B.E.2a A582 at Wakefield.

On 14th August 1917 this aeroplane was to be transferred from No.38 Home Defence Squadron, Royal Flying Corps at Buckminster aerodrome to join No.76 Home Defence Squadron, Royal Flying Corps at Copmanthorpe. On the flight north it crashed near Wakefield at 19.00hrs injuring the No.38 Squadron pilot. The pilot appears to have been transported all the way to the Beckett Park Military Hospital at Headingley, Leeds.

Pilot - 2Lt John James Alfred Crozier RFC. Injured.


John Crozier was born on 1st July 1896.
