Avro 504b 9865 at Redcar.

On 6th October 1917 this RNAS Flying School aeroplane was damaged at Redcar, possibly due to a collision with Avro 504 N5267.

Avro 504 9865 was built by George Parnall & Co. Ltd at Bristol and was delivered by road to Redcar on 27th November 1916 where it was assembled, tested and accepted there on 6th December 1916. It joined the RNAS Flying School. Following the damage sustained on 6th October 1917 it was not repaired and was deleted as "wrecked" on 7th December 1917 after inspection by the assessors.
