Avro 504a 2933 at Redcar.

On 6th October 1917 this RNAS Flying School aeroplane was involved in an accident at Redcar in which damage was sustained to it's wings and undercarriage.

Avro 504 2933 was built by S.E. Saunders Ltd for the RFC but was transferred as a dual control trainer to the RNAS and arrived at RNAS Redcar Flying School on 11th May 1916. Following an accident on 7th January 1917 it was repaired and returned to service before suffering another accident on 21st July 1917 at Redcar after which it was again repaired. It then suffered a third accident on 6th October 1917 and was deleted from stock on 26th January 1918 as deemed beyond economic repair.
