Unidentified aeroplane near Cotherstone.
On Wednesday, 23rd May 1917 an unidentified aeroplane made a forced landing in a field at Wodencroft, between Cotherstone and Romaldkirk, in Teesdale, almost certainly down to the pilot becoming lost in fog. Damage resulted and it had to be taken away by road. This information was found in the Teesdale Mercury newspaper and is all the information I currently have.
