On 15th February 1916 this aeroplane was badly damaged in a gale at Redcar while in service with the RNAS Flying School.

Boxkite 8450 was manufactured by the Bristol Aeroplane Company at Filton and was delivered to RNAS Redcar on 22nd December 1915. It was written off as a result of the damage at Redcar following the gale as it was deemed beyond economical repair and was delete from stock as of 1st March 1916.
