On 5th February 1916 this aeroplane was slightly damaged at or near Redcar following a force-landing during a flight with the RNAS Home Defence Flight.

Scout 3038 was built by Bristol Aeroplane Ltd at Filton and was delivered to Redcar on 19th December 1915. Following a mishap at Redcar on 5th February 1916 it was repaired and returned to service but was severely damaged again at Redcar on 19th August 1916. After assessment following the second incident it was deemed beyond economic repair and deleted from stock on 29th August 1916.
