Blackburn Type L at Speeton.
In early 1915 and believed to have been during the delivery flight to RNAS Killingholme from Scalby Mills, Scarborough where modifications had been made, this aeroplane's floats clipped the edge of cliffs near Speeton and it crashed. It was being flown by Blackburn's test pilot at the time of the accident but he was fortunate to escape serious injury when the aircraft was badly damaged. The date for the incident is not known.
Pilot - Mr William Rowland Ding.
Possibly carrying a passenger.
