Caudron G.III 3868 at Barmston.
At 20.40hrs on 25th July 1915 this aeroplane took off from RNAS Scarborough to make a transit flight RNAS Hornsea where it was to join the Home Defence Flight there. He appears to have left it rather later before
taking off and on the flight south it got too dark to continue. Owing to darkness arriving the pilot made a successful forced landing at 21.05hrs at Barmston with the aeroplane being undamaged. The following morning he
made a eight minute flight to RNAS Hornsea and landed without incident.
