Caudron G.III 3868 near Scarborough.

At 17.40hrs on 18th July 1915 this aeroplane took off from RNAS Redcar to make a transit flight RNAS Scarborough aerodrome where it was to join the Home Defence Flight there. At 18.20hrs the aircraft arrived in the Scarborough area but instead of landing at the aerodrome the pilot made a forced landing around a mile north east of the site. The aircraft was slightly damaged but the pilot was not injured. It was taken back to RNAS Scarborough and noted as being ready for flight on 24th July 1915, after a mechanic was sent from Redcar to tune it.
