Bleriot XI-2 3228 at RNAS Redcar aerodrome.

On 12th July 1915 this aircraft was flown on a practice flight and took off from Redcar aerodrome at 11.45hrs. On landing at Redcar eleven minutes later the aircraft ran into a hedge which damaged the front spar and the tip of the leading edge on the right wing. It was probably being used by the RNAS Home Defence Flight at the time. It was quickly repaired and was ready for flight the following day.
