B.E.2c 1112 near Middlesbrough.

On 19th August 1915 this aeroplane was reported to have sideslipped and crashed into the ground near Middlesbrough sustaining serious damage. The aircraft was built by Beardmore and Co at Dalmuir and delivered to Redcar on 31st July 1915. It appears to have served with the Home Defence Flight at Redcar. Where it was being flown on 19th August 1915 is not known. Following inspection after this mishap near Middlesbrough it was deemed beyond economic repair and deleted from stock on 20th October 1915.

Pilot - F/Lt Charles Beauvoir Dalison RNAS.


Charles Dalison was born in 1894. He gained his Royal Aero Club Aviators' Certificate (Cert.No.1020) at the Grahame-White Flying School, Hendon on 24th December 1914. He was awarded the AFC on 2nd November 1918. Post-WW1 he was elected a member of the Royal Aero Club on 14th November 1923 and remained in the RAF until 1939, he served with 10 Squadron in 1933-34 and later No.25 (Armament) Group at Eastchurch.
