Tranmer aeroplane at Scarborough.

During May 1910 local newspapers state that Mr Joseph William Frederick Tranmer, of "The Nook", Scalby Road, Scarborough, was having built an aeroplane in the Scarborough area and around the same time appears to have been the first person to consider and then seek permission to operate an aerodrome at Filey. This site was later used by and then taken over by Harold Blackburn. Tranmer's aeroplane cannot have been a success but I can find no mention of it ever been flown in the local newspapers.

This webpage has been created in the hope someone has more information.
