Abbott-Baynes Scud III (2) BGA.283 glider at Sutton Bank.

During the Easter 1939 weekend members of the Yorkshire Gliding Club ran a flying meeting at their Sutton Bank site. Easter weekend ran from 7th to 10th April 1939. During the weekend one of the club members brought his Scud III glider fresh from a Winter overhaul but unfortunately during a test flight the fuselage was damaged and it took just over a month for it to be returned to flying condition. The date is not confirmed but was probably either Good Friday or Easter Saturday. As of 2023 the glider still exists.
