Slingsby Falcon T-1 BGA-226 glider at Sutton Bank.
On Sunday, 19th April 1936 the Yorkshire Gliding Club held a flying meeting at Sutton Bank. During the morning this glider was flown for one hour twenty minutes with the pilot finding and playing with thermal currents. The glider ascended to 1500 feet during the course of the flight. On landing at Sutton Bank the glider struck a bump that was hidden in the heather and the rear spar sustained damage. The damage was still being repaired by 25th April 1936.
Pilot - Mr John L Wordworth.
