Darmstadt D-15 West Preussen BGA.214 glider at Sutton Bank.

During the afternoon of Sunday, 4th August 1935 this glider was launched at Sutton Bank but two minutes after taking off the pilot was making a downwind turn when it spun and crashed on the moorland ajoining Sutton Bank gliding site. The glider was reported as being badly damaged and the pilot sustained minor injuries. The glider was a reconditioned German glider owned by Mr Dudley Hiscox of the London Gliding Club (based at Dunstable).
