Hols-der-Teufel "Bat" BGA.191 glider damaged at Sutton Bank.
A gliding report in the Glider and Sailplane magazine given by the Yorkshire Gliding Club in January 1935 states that on 14th October 1934 the Bay-Hols was flown by Messers Sharpe, Holdsworth and Hastwell. Nearing dusk the glider was landed near the hairpin road bend on Sutton Bank in bracken, close to large rocks and with the port wing near what was described as a precipitous drop. A later report from activities on 28th October 1934 state that their "Good Hols" was flown after being given a Re-Certification of Airworthiness. This suggests to me that the Bay-Hols had been damaged and was not repaired by 28th October 1934. This glider was a Hols-de-Teufel and registered as BGA.191, it carried the name "BAT".
