Unidentified Hols-der-Teufel glider at Sutton Bank gliding site.

Between 1st and 14th August 1937 the Yorkshire Gliding Club ran their annual instruction camp at Sutton Bank which allowed for novice glider pilots to come for the duration and learn to fly, leaving with their gliding certificates. On Monday, 9th August 1937 a pilot made, what the Sailplane and Glider magazine reporter stated to have been, "an unconventional landing just above Roulston Scar resulting in a fracture to the Hols five bar gate". This suggests some form of damage but exactly what?

At the time the Yorkshire Gliding Club had four Hols gliders; BGA.191 they received in July 1934 but by August 1937 is believed to have been no longer in use, BGA.252 they received on 8th March 1936, BGA.275 they received on 11th July 1936 and BGA.289 they received in December 1936. Which glider was this damaged one in August 1937 is unknown.
